About This Project

The fans of J. K. Rowling’s saga got to celebrate Christmas a little bit earlier, with a true Hogwarts style dinner that took place in the Quinta do Lagar in Leça do Balio’s Monastery in the 7th of December of 2017, for a limited number of just around 100 people. The initiative intended to celebrate the magic of Harry Potter, by bringing Potterheads from all around the world together at the dinner table. The conception, production and press agency of this event was entrusted to Bairro dos Livros.

About the event: At midnight from November 16th to the 17th of 2017, when the tickets for the dinner were made available, Livraria Lello’s website crashed, such was the demand from fans. Because of the overwhelming influx of Potterheads to the bookshop’s website, trying to get a hold of the tickets, www.livrarialello.pt went offline, and it was only in the morning that they were able to fix it and reset the ticket’s sale, around 10 a.m.. Over the period of one hour, the tickets were sold out.

The feast replicated the atmosphere of The Great Hall from the school of magic, with a menu that made those who always imagined how it would be to have dinner with Harry Potter overjoyed and delighted, and the rest of the evening was equally memorable: games, prizes and entertainment made for an experience that Livraria Lello wanted to dedicate to the biggest Harry Potter aficionados, that made the 1906’s building a must-see attraction throughout this last decade.
